An Open Letter about Sept 11th
Joy and I went on a long awaited vacation to the big island of Hawaii.
We left on the 10th of September, 2001.
Having been in Arizona for a number of years I had felt the need to feel,
imbibe, absorb some ocean environment.
After a long trip we arrived at a house we had rented on the easternmost tip
of the island of Hawaii, in Kapoho, a house right on the ocean, with it's
own lagoon that lets the ocean in, the waves crashing out on the reef and
tide pools. That following morning I woke before sunrise, grabbed a chair,
walked out on the reef and set the chair on a barely above water rock and
watched the sun rise.
The barriers between the dimensions are thin here. I could feel the "old"
Hawaii, the cultures of the Tahitians setting out from their islands across
thousands of miles of ocean and somehow knowing how to reach Hawaii. I could
feel their energy, their ways, their cadence of daily life. A timelessness
of wind, waves, melted together.
Mother Earth talked to me. She said that there are some on the planet that
are interested in delivering to her a "death blow". They want to eradicate
the life force, the magnetic fields, the Van Allen belts that cause the
Northern lights (the Van Allen belts are in a real sense the soul of the planet, her electromagnetic energy fields-aura).
She said that this will not happen and to not fear. There is nothing that can
move her off her destiny path. For Father God and Mother Earth have made up
and neither wants this planet to "die". Wars, calamity, whole civilizations being wiped out, whatever horrible catastrophes we can envision, are moments in time, a time that is not static-real-absolute to begin with. Life can
rekindle itself almost overnight. Whole new ways of existing and living
have, do, and will spring up again and again. She asked me to look at the
fish in the lagoon, the brightly speckled eel I had surprised out of the water,
the jumping fish, the schools of other fish. Notice how they are unperturbed
by man's doings. How they exist in a timeless dimension. A feeling of
permanent timelessness imbued me, I stopped breathing, I felt the ocean, the
waves, the wind. My solar plexus heated up as if it was the molten lava that
flows just a few miles away. I felt myself take another step into
the timeless world that is not dependent, does not place it's trust-faith in
the man made structures of our society. (this is the only space that holds
my interest over the last ten years. The rest is really ephemeral and indeed
"..heaven and earth will pass away but my Word lasts forever".)
After a while I walked back in to the house. Just feeling the ocean breezes
through the house and hearing the waves I could still feel the timeless
space.
About an hour later Joy turned on the radio and we heard the local Hilo
radio announcer talking about some catastrophe at the World Trade Center.
We turned on the TV and watched the planes crash into the towers over and
over.
I hesitate almost to say this, for fear of being labeled uncaring or insensitive...but
I felt a total peace...no fear...actually an exhilaration at the
acceleration of our waking up that this event foreshadows. That somehow this
event was a tempered, as soft as possible, wake up call, given our
disconnect from God-Love. Imagine a nuclear weapon or massive biological weapons,
or water poisoning having affected millions of US citizens.
Perhaps God knew that the plane that was brought down in Pennsylvania, who some said was aiming for the white house had left a gaping whole in the earth where the White House
used to be that it would have been to much for us and we would have
degenerated into willingness to exact vengeance at whatever cost.
Finally, the apocalypse: meaning "full divine revelation" will begin. Only
those fearing God, Love and what will come to light, will cower in fear of
the revelation of what is real behind the scenes of our everyday lives.
Having to do it the hard way, with disasters, war, earthquakes, cancer, car
accident, divorces, school shootings... I don't even lament that
anymore....I just want the wake up for all of Us. Yes It would be easier if
we all turned inward and were willing to clean up our own backyards, our own
crashed chakra systems, our own energetically polluted minds and bodies, if
we "sought God's will" and we wouldn't have to do it the hard, shocking way.
But either way this wake up is coming, the old system is over. How me make
the transition is somewhat up to us individually and collectively.
the only prayer I could come up with was:
God's Will on Earth....God's Will on Earth.... God's Will on Earth....
Nationalism, flag saluting is looking ugly to me...if used in an "us vs. them" way. How about we pray for Grace, for God's Love on earth for all his children and finally be willing
to let Love, God into our own individual lives. Come out of our collective
Denial.
There is only one Earth. When you go out in Nature do you come across a
giant dotted line that says U.S.A. on this side and Mexico or Canada on the
other side. The fishes, the wind, the waves know no artificial boundaries.
No man made lines. Do you know why we killed 50 million buffalo? Because
they would not respect the artificial lines (fences) that man put up in
trying to control, own, subjugate, the wild. So we had to kill them and put in the
cattle in their stead. Never mind that the bison's hoofs had been perfectly
designed by nature to naturally till the earth and help the prairie
grasses grow. (the cows feet compact the earth instead and make it hard for the
grasses to grow). Buffalo meat is actually better for us to eat, less fat, the buffalo were already there in place. The only reason we had to kill them all off and replace them with our cattle was that they could not be 'domesticated', i.e. turned into mind controlled slaves.
We are one human family. If we have a quarrel with a part of our selves, our own body, do
we kill it? (yes we do, we surgically cut it out, but this is an equally
crazy although medical model). The old law of an eye for an eye, a tooth for a
tooth, an arm for an arm will simply leave us all blind, toothless and
limbless.
Why, what is the root cause that some hate America and what they perceive it
stands for? Why would they be willing to sacrifice themselves, go to these
lengths to be heard? Deepak Chopra calls this "The Deeper Wound", what is
the root cause?
Who trained the Mujahadeen freedom fighters in Afghanistan to fight against
the Russians in the 1980's?
Who gave them their weapons?
Who encouraged a whole generation of young men in Afghanistan that know only war, who are completely identified with "Jihad" against the "infidel"? These young men
whose manhood, reason for living, is to fight?
Who praised these men for their willingness to fight against overwhelming
odds against "evil'?
Who abandoned these men and the country Afghanistan, after the war, in an
economic shambles when they were no longer needed to fight communism?
Why are we surprised...that these young men need to find a new enemy to
fight when they are dishonored in their home countries (much like our
Vietnam vets were) when they try to go back?
What is the root cause?
Who invented the weapons, the biological poisons, the atom bomb, the stinger
missiles ?
Do we reap what we sow?
Do those who live by the sword die by the sword?
Does Violence returned for violence ever work?
Why did Einstein say "You cannot prepare for both War and Peace
simultaneously."
Why did God say "vengeance is mine"
Why did Jesus say "turn the other cheek"
What were they trying to help us with? to see, to understand?
It's larger even than us being one human family. There is only one Life Source across
the Universe and there are many races on many planets all made from the same
Divine Love, the same God. We are all one.
This is part of the seeing more clearly. Of prodding us to make our choices.
Do we want to live out the old models of War, of revenge, of not feeling our
emotions? Do we want premature "closure" so we can move on without having
to feel our feelings? Why do we want 'closure' anyway? Why do we want to 'close' off loved ones? Don't they still exist though not perhaps in this dimensional vibration?
The only thing that is going to work is pockets of souls gathering, and
invoking, praying, calling upon grace, upon God and THEN taking appropriate
action.
The change is going to come from this. From small, eventually larger, groups
of us coming out of the "spiritual closet" and praying, bringing God's will
down on earth by being conduits for it.
The politicians are going to be looking increasingly inept.
The media is terrified of being real, human, having any feelings. Their
"professionalism" will look increasingly callous, inhuman, inadequate, grotesque and embarrassing. We will start to realize that being 'professional' and cutting off our human hearts, compassion, feeling is an inappropriate approach to life.
The Warriors, the war proponent's ways will also not work. But they cannot
retire until we clean up our own acts. Warriors, police are simply doing what they are imprinted to do and are needed until the
"Law of Love has returned to men's hearts." They are not the enemy.
The old religious systems are failing, turning into fundamentalist
factions with their parroting of hollow words, or worse, degenerating into sexual and mind control mental abuse of their flocks.
America IS beautiful, is a beacon, a hope of freedom, an example for
oppressed people around the world. Americans are generous, open hearted,
wonderful people....and "may God shed his grace on Thee."
I hope we find the strength in us to be willing to listen to what this wake
up call is showing us.
The flag stands for freedom, for justice, for the right to be individuals,
for pursuit of individual dreams.
Would we want to stain this flag with the blood of innocents? with the blood
of simple men, women and children, poor villagers that get caught in the
crossfire?
When a member of your family, let's say your 14 year old son acts up it's
because he doesn't feel heard. He wants Daddy's attention. If you talk to
him and really listen, love and respect will return. If you don't, he brings
a knife to school, he gets in "trouble" so that you will give him some
attention. And if we still don't pay attention he will bring a gun next
time and be willing to die instead of live with his heart and feelings not being respected and heard.
I believe we can solve this "acting up" this "terrorism" relatively simply.
The U.S. Government and president Bush would say that we want to know why you
hate us so, why are you so angry with us, what do you feel we have we done to you. We call
a globally televised summit with the factions that hate us. With the Muslim
countries that are the angriest at us. We ask what have we done to offend
you? We listen....we listen.... we listen, we listen some more, we let all
the grievances be heard. (For the Christians out there, Jesus said to go
to your enemy 7x7x7 times to inquire as to why he is angry with you. Jerry
Falwell (he seems to have 'fallen' really well) in his wisdom a day or two after the attack said on CNN that we should "..get the bastards". It's time we stand up and point out the false teachers.
Yes, we did install the Shah of Iran into power using the CIA, yes we did
some assassinations, we interfered with internal affairs of countries in the
middle east. Yes, we did, it was what we thought was right at the time. We
are sorry. We no longer do that... we didn't know better, we are sorry.
Can we find a way to work together. What do you want now? We want to make
up, we want to be able to co-operate and work together.
Here's the key: We RESPECT you, we want to treat you as equals, we don't
want to be "Ugly Americans" steam rolling over other cultures. How can we be
partners in creating a peaceful world? What are your ideas? Wasn't Abraham
the father of all three religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam? Are we
not brothers in the same family? How can we get along. What has gone wrong?
America as the bigger, more powerful brother would show great grace in being
willing to listen, to absorb the anger, to "turn the other cheek". If this
was done sincerely, the factions that hate us would also eventually
apologize back and invite us to be their "guests" in their countries.
The Guest is God in the Muslim world. But arrogant guests who do not respect
the host is a huge insult. The weak, easy path is to simply go in and destroy a much smaller weaker opponent. The real courage lies in being willing to go to the opponent and turn them around with Love.
From a pragmatic point of view even if it took years (which it wouldn't)
talking would keep us from killing each other.
"You may say I'm a dreamer..." But I know that if we televised a summit
like this all over the world for all countries to see, and we were willing
to apologize, to say we are sorry for our part in creating the hatred, that
we want to regain respect with the Muslim world, that then this hatred
brewing and in danger of boiling over with it's current flashpoint in
Afghanistan would dissipate. We could lessen the hatred and avoid a lot of
pain.
Real strength lies in men being able to not only love their concepts of Jesus, Allah, Jehovah
but also each other.
Will a summit like this happen? Not likely given the current amount of
suppressed fear and hatred in all of us...but grace and miracles do happen
everyday....imagine a summit where we talked openly and healed our
"trespasses", anger and hurts...
I think the best we can hope for is a protracted limited bloodshed "war" on
terrorists and hope that it will look too ugly on TV to kill innocents for
Americans to want to stomach it.
My future vision tells me:
If we respond with widespread military power and use it to dominate other
parts of the world the next wake up call for the West and the US will likely be natural
disasters that will eventually cause economic collapse. It may be a huge earthquake in
California that bankrupts the insurance companies, which in turn collapses
the banks and the economy, with accompanying social chaos.
By the way, this is exactly what caused the last and final sinking of
Atlantis, the "great flood" of the Bible. We are recreating the exact
scenario of what happened there. We tried to dominate other parts of the
world with our Crystal/laser weapons ( our current day SDI/star wars shield?)
When we finally sent a ray of energy through the earth in order to "teach a lesson" to what is today the desolate desert in western China, earth responded with earthquakes and volcanic eruptions that sank the continent of Atlantis. We are recreating almost the exact same scenario to offer us a chance to make a different choice this time. Are we going to try to dominate the rest of the world again or respect other cultures and create a cooperative world of peoples.
